Welcome to Educare Early Intervention, where your children will grow, learn, and play. I’m Teacher Tina, Educare’s Program Director. My family and I are long-time residents of Fort McMurray, we moved here 17 years ago. Both my children have grown up in Fort McMurray. My daughter is 22, and my son is 17. Along with Fort McMurray being my family’s home, we consider Educare as our home too. Educare has been an important part of the Tetreault family for 16 years and counting. Myself, my family, and the Educare team are very dedicated to you, the families; and to providing the best preschool program we can.
My name is Dawna Backhouse. I have been involved with Educare since 1999. I have had numerous roles, the first being volunteer teacher helper when my son attended in 1999/2000, Speech Assistant, Program Enhancement Coordinator, and most recent Family Resource Consultant. I provide home visits, am available to answer parent’s questions, offer a listening hear, provide referrals, and am a liaison between families and community agencies. I provide support or help in any way that I am able, year round, both at school and at home. Furthermore, my position with Educare includes supervising the reading and writing centers which includes stories, poems, and pictures, performing pre and post child skills checklists, and reinforcing social skills through conversation and videos.
My Name is Sheena Richardson, and this year I am happy to join the Educare team as an early childhood educator. I moved to Fort McMurray 5 year’s ago with my husband and 3 girls from B.C. My passion is working with young children and to help them develop the skills needed in the early years to succeed for their future by learning through play, exploration and fun !
My name is Megan Wilkins. I was born and raised in Fort McMurray and I love calling it my home! So I decided to go to college locally. I received my level 2 in Early Learning and Childcare in 2011. Since then, I have completed a few diploma courses and I hope one day I will have my diploma! Working with children has always been a dream of mine and I am so glad I picked it as my career. I have worked as a daycare worker, an Educational Assistant and I am now on my second year of being a Preschool Teacher. I am glad I am a part of the Educare team and I look forward to seeing what the future holds!
My name is Danielle Dureault and I am the Speech-Language Pathologist at Educare. I received my Master of Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Alberta in 2001 . I am excited to join the program in a professional role after having been a part of it as a parent and as a board member in the past. I look forward to working with all of the children to enhance their speech and language skills through what they do best…Play!
